Guidelines for mobile leaflet staff in Derby City Centre
Whilst there are no legal regulations for this kind of marketing activity, we have drawn up a voluntary code of conduct that we would ask mobile leaflet staff to conform to. This will enable us to continue to ensure that visitors to Derby City centre find the experience a positive experience, rather that be harassed by leaflet distributors, and that the streets of Derby are kept clear from dropped leaflets.

Companies are requested to notify City Centre Management of
1.
Dates they wish to come into the City Centre
2. Contents of the leaflet /handout
3. A point of contact should there be any query from a member of the public or official body.

We would ask that your staff are expected to behave politely, respectfully, kindly and helpfully at all times, they should be fully supervised and that you will send them home if they do not adhere to the following guidelines:

  • They are to remain 'mobile'
  • They are not to smoke or use mobile phones whilst working.
  • They are not to harass or stand in the way of any member of the public.
  • They are not to push leaflets on anyone, only to smile at people and offer them.
  • They are to be quiet and well-mannered and not create any kind of nuisance whatsoever.
  • They are to pick up any leaflets that they see dropped and put them into waste bins.
  • They are to walk around at the end of the day and pick up all leaflets that they can see that have been dropped and put them into waste bins, so as to leave the area tidy.

If you would like a static stand or promotional exhibit , this can be arranged at a variety of different locations across the city.
